How You Can Help

Community is in our name. But it’s not just who we serve, it’s who we are. This organization is made of neighbors helping neighbors. And when we all take part, we can do so much more.

Getting Involved

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action fights poverty in many forms. Your financial support is critical, as is your hands-on help. Everyone is welcome, and no contribution is too small. Together, we can make a big difference.

Donations

Every year, hundreds of people donate in support of our vital, local programs like the ARCHES Project and HOME Youth Services. We hope you’ll consider investing in the people we serve with a single or recurring donation through our Kindful account.

We also have options for legacy contributions through your will or trust. For more on this, contact our team at giving@mwvcaa.org.

FAQs

You can increase your monthly donation, update a payment method, or add a new email address by logging into your profile on our giving website, Network for Good.

Please make checks out to Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency, with the program the check is for listed in the subject line. You can drop them by or mail them to our main office, 2475 Center St NE, Salem, OR, 97301.

You can email development@mwvcaa.org. We can point you in the right direction! Each of our programs also has a contact form on our website listed on their program page.

When making a donation through our donor software, Network for Good, a small text box will appear asking you if your gift is in honor of anyone. You can fill that out to let us know.

Always feel free to connect with Laurel Glenn, our Director of Development, at development@mwvcaa.org or 971-304-6848.

You can reach Dustin Steinhoff, our Marketing and Social Media Assistant, at dustin.steinhoff@mwvcaa.org or 503-508-8780.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are a very effective way to give to charities, where donors set aside money to be granted to charitable organizations. You can support MWVCAA through a Donor Advised Fund grant. When processing a DAF grant, search for MWVCAA by tax ID number (23-7056987).

To make a gift of stock, please notify the Development Department in advance of the transfer by contacting (971) 304-6848 or development@mwvcaa.org.

A retirement plan, such as an IRA, can be a smart source for charitable giving. If you are 70½ years or older, an IRA charitable rollover gift allows you to direct up to $100,000 tax-free to MWVCAA each year from your traditional IRA, which satisfies your required minimum distribution and reduces your taxable income. Contact your IRA custodian to request a direct distribution to MWVCAA. Married taxpayers who meet QCD requirements and file joint returns can donate $100,000 from each spouse’s IRA, for a total of $200,000 annually.
