Breaking the Cycle of Incarceration
In Marion County, returning citizens can face a litany of hurdles. Only half have a job upon release, and a near equal amount are denied housing — despite many being parents to underage children. Our services, in partnership with the Marion County Reentry Initiative, eases the transition from incarceration back into the community. Using evidence-backed practices, the De Muniz Resource Center connects clients with vital needs, including employment, education, housing, therapy, transportation, and more, all aimed at reducing the rate of recidivism. We also now host an emergency clothing closet.
This wide-reaching initiative works closely with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Bridgeway Recovery Services, supporting clients in the community, as well as inmates in the Marion County Transition Center.
Any type of criminal conviction makes a person eligible for our help. We encourage you to contact us—either by phone, or drop in to visit. We’ll connect you with a navigator who can guide you through next steps.

Once released from jail, he interviewed for a technical construction position. Not only was he hired, but was able to secure a higher rate of pay. J.S. has reunited with his family and children, and has the privilege of traveling all over the world with his career.
