You Can Impact the Lives of Youth
As the most comprehensive homeless services and anti-poverty agency in the state, we can move youth from homelessness to housed and beyond. But it all starts the moment they walk into their new home. We need your help to create it for them.
In the far corner of the room will be a chair with a table to rest your water bottle. They can see themselves reading or drawing there. In front of the TV they want a huge sofa because, they really need each other. And they need naps. The paint will be fresh. It will feel like a home. Not outdated or institutional, but a reflection of them.
If you have any interest in being the helping hand to our youth that helps them feel at home, contact Development Director Marie Jennings at 503-428-3877 or development@mwvcaa.org.
Taylor’s House has provided more than 9,000 shelter bed nights for 379 vulnerable youth since its establishment in 2018.
A Safe Place for Youth
Taylor’s House welcome’s children as young as 11. Regardless of their age, we are proud that the children living at Taylor’s House turn out the light each night without fear of being trafficked, waking up cold and wet, or concerned about that three-day-old sandwich they’ve been saving.
Taylor’s House is operated by MWVCAA’s Youth Services program, which specializes in assisting Marion and Polk county youth who are unsheltered or at risk of becoming unsheltered. Youth Services welcomes any youth that walks through their doors, helps them become comfortable and encourages them to move into the next stage of their life.
