Current Volunteer Opportunities with Emergency Services

To get involved at Emergency Services, please complete a Volunteer Application. Below is list of our current volunteer opportunities. If nothing seems like a good fit, feel free to reach out with ideas. We are always open to exploring new opportunities. If you have questions, please contact us.

  • Mobile Shower Station: Volunteers for the Mobile Shower will help with setting up, checking in shower guests, cleaning the showers after use, and tearing down at the end of the day. The schedule is to be determined.
  • Emergency Shelters: Volunteers will support the operations of the Emergency Shelters by setting up, checking in warming guests, monitoring guest belongings, and helping create a warm and welcoming space for everyone. Shifts are overnight.
  • Salem-Keizer Homeless Connect: Volunteers will help in variety of ways: setting up, serving food, supporting providers, guiding guests, and much more. The Connect event is a 1-day event where service providers and local organizations come together in one location to meet with individuals who are or are at risk for being homeless.
  • Annual Point in Time Homeless Count: Every year on the last Wednesday of January, volunteers from the community meet with those who are homeless for what is called the Point In Time (PIT) Count. The information provided through the PIT Count gives the community a snap-shot of the needs of homeless individuals and families in our community and a better understanding of the services and resources needed to assist them.
